Creating a Low Poly House
A three-part beginner series — model a stylized low poly house exterior, build its interior, then add color and materials.
This is the best place to start if you have just installed UModeler X. Across three videos you build one complete, game-ready low poly house from an empty scene — first the exterior, then the interior, and finally the color and materials that pull it together.
Everything is done inside Unity with UModeler X. No other software, no prior modeling experience needed.
1. Exterior
Block out the main shapes of the house, then add the roof, chimney, windows, and doors — keeping the mesh optimized for games throughout. This part covers the core modeling tools you will reuse in everything you build afterwards.
2. Interior
Block out the rooms, build simple furniture, shape the stairs, add shelves, and refine the layout until the space feels game-ready and easy to move through.
3. Adding Color
Start with basic Unity materials, add textures and adjust tiling, then unwrap the meshes cleanly in the UModeler X UV Editor. Finish by painting gradients, highlights, and custom details directly onto the model with the Paint tools.
Your challenge
Use what you learn here to build your own version of the house — experiment with shapes, colors, and proportions until it feels like yours. When it is done, share it with the community. We would love to see what you come up with.
