Generate
Generate a 3D model with Meshy from inside Unity: Text to 3D or Image to 3D, with the meshy-4/5/6 models, art style, A/T pose, quad or triangle topology, PBR maps, poly count, symmetry and seed options.
Generate is the first stage of the Meshy workflow in the Gen 3D AI tab: you describe or show what you want, Meshy builds the mesh and textures, and UModeler X places the result in your Unity scene as an editable object. Everything here is billed to your own Meshy account (see Getting Started).

Two ways to start
- Text to 3D — type a description of the object. Best when you know what you want but have no reference yet; the Art Style option (realistic, sculpture, low-poly, cartoon, pbr) is only available on this path.
- Image to 3D — upload one reference image. Best when the look is already decided (concept art, a product photo, a sprite); Meshy follows the image instead of a prompt.
Options shared by both paths
| Option | What it controls |
|---|---|
| AI Model | meshy-4, meshy-5, meshy-6 (Image to 3D lists the newest as latest: Meshy 6 Preview). Newer models generally give cleaner geometry and textures; older ones are cheaper on Meshy's side. |
| A/T Pose | Generates characters in a neutral A- or T-pose so they can be rigged later in Improve → Rig & Ani. |
| Topology | Quad for a quad-dominant mesh you can keep editing with UModeler X's modeling tools; Triangle for a decimated tri mesh when the asset goes straight to runtime. |
| PBR Maps | Adds metallic, roughness and normal maps on top of the base color. |
| Poly Count | Target polygon count, 100 – 300,000. The result may deviate depending on the complexity of the shape. |
| Symmetry | Off / Auto / On — whether Meshy enforces left-right symmetry during generation. |
| Seed | Random for a new variation each run; Fixed to reproduce the same result from the same input. |
How Meshy differs from Tripo here
Meshy's Generate panel exposes Art Style and A/T Pose; Tripo's exposes Smart Low, HD Texture and separate model/texture seeds instead. If your target is a stylized or low-poly look, start with Meshy's Art Style; if you need hand-crafted low-poly topology, compare with Tripo → Generate.
After generating
The model appears in History. Use Preview to inspect it, then place it in the scene or continue to Improve to retexture, remesh or rig it.
