Release Notes 1.4.1

Updates and improvements to UModeler X.

1.4.1 (2026-10-07)

  • New Features
    • Multilingual Support
      • The UModeler X interface can now be displayed in 14 languages in addition to English.
        • 한국어, 日本語, 简体中文, 繁體中文, Deutsch, Français, Español, Italiano, Português (Brasil), Русский, Nederlands, Türkçe, Polski, Suomi
      • The language can be changed in Preferences > UModeler X > Settings > Language. Changing it reloads the scripts.
    • Parametric Shape — Bezier Revolve Added
      • A shape that creates a solid of revolution by rotating a 2D profile around the Y axis. Forms such as onion domes, jars, and bottles can be created.
      • Linear (straight) and Bezier (curved) can be mixed per profile segment.
      • Inspector
        • Profile: Point list, segment type, In/Out handle editing of the selected point, Insert / Remove / Reset
        • Revolution: Rotation Angle (1~360°), Rotation Segments, Profile Segments
      • Scene View
        • Editing is done by dragging the anchors and Bezier handles directly. (Handles are hidden on Linear segments.)
        • Ctrl + click on the curve inserts a point, and Delete removes it. Shift aligns handles, and box selection can also be used.
        • In Draw mode, dragging determines the radius and clicking determines the height.
      • It can be created as bezierrevolve (alias revolve) in MCP and AI Shape Script (DSL).
    • FFD Modifier Overhaul
      • Unified into a new lattice-based FFD modifier.
        • The resolution can be set separately per axis between 2 and 32.
        • One of Linear / Bezier / BSpline can be chosen as the interpolation method.
        • The position, rotation, and scale of the lattice can be adjusted with Lattice Local Transform.
        • Geometry outside the lattice box follows the deformation of the boundary consistently.
      • The existing FFD 2x2x2 / 3x3x3 / 4x4x4 are marked as Legacy and hidden from the Add Modifier menu. Legacy FFDs already in use continue to operate as before.
        • Pressing the Convert to FFD button in the Legacy FFD Inspector converts it to the new FFD. The shape inside the lattice box is preserved, while the shape outside the box may differ.
    • MCP / CLI
      • Added PicoBerry MCP Tools
        • AI agents can generate PicoBerry assets through MCP, check and wait for the progress state, place them in the scene, and query the asset list.
        • Supported MCP frameworks: Coplay, Unity-MCP (IvanMurzak), UnityMCP, AI Assistant
        • MCP generation-related settings can be changed in Preferences > UModeler X > PicoBerry.
      • Unity CLI Integration
        • In projects where the Unity Pipeline (com.unity.pipeline) package is installed, UModeler X features can be executed with CLI commands.
        • Unity Pipeline 0.7.0 and 0.8.0 are supported.
      • Added AI Agent Skill
        • Provides a skill file for AI agents such as Claude Code and Codex to refer to when handling UModeler X through MCP or CLI.
        • It is installed with Tools > UModeler X > AI Agent Skill > Install to Project and removed with Remove from Project.
        • Installation locations: .claude/skills/umodelerx (Claude Code), .agents/skills/umodelerx (Codex)
  • Improvements
    • General
      • Switched to the Unity shortcut system on Unity 6.6 and later
        • On Unity 6.6 and later, UModeler X shortcuts are checked and changed in the UModeler X category of the Unity shortcut window (Edit > Shortcuts).
        • Previously customized shortcuts are automatically migrated to the Unity shortcut profile on first launch. Already configured values are not overwritten.
        • The Unity shortcut window can be opened and UModeler X shortcuts can be reset in Preferences > UModeler X > Shortcuts.
        • Mouse side buttons can also be assigned as shortcuts.
      • Overlay Option Change Notification
        • When an overlay option is changed, the changed state is displayed as a notification message in the Scene View.
        • Targets: Element Overlay, Display Mode, Backface Select, Camera Based Select, Fully Contained Only, Border Rect Select, Display UV Seam, Display Sharp Edge
      • Changing a shortcut is now immediately reflected in the tool buttons and the UV toolbar tooltips.
    • Modeling Mode
      • Circular Shape Tool Rotation and Axis Alignment
        • In the Disk, Cylinder, Cone, Sphere, Icosphere, Torus, Pipe, Capsule, and Spiral Stair tools, the rotation angle of the shape can be determined by the direction of the initial drag.
        • A rotation guide line and the angle are displayed while dragging.
        • The angle is snapped according to Unity's rotation snap settings, so it can be aligned exactly to an axis. The angle reference follows the Global / Local setting of the Unity toolbar.
      • Improved the modeling pivot. (Simultaneous world/local rotation)
    • Curve Editor
      • The Point Type of the Type tool allows a type to be specified individually per point. (BSpline is applied only to the entire curve.)
      • The position coordinates of a selected point can be entered directly.
      • On an object composed of multiple curves, only the selected curve can be adjusted separately.
    • Parametric Mode
      • The rotation and Unity snap settings are applied identically to the Draw mode of circular shapes.
      • Adjusted the size of the handles (gizmos).
      • Improved readability when the Inspector window is narrow.
      • Changed the help layout.
      • Greatly improved the speed of prefab creation, opening, saving, and duplication for prefabs with many shapes.
  • Bug Fixes
    • General
      • Fixed an issue where an invalid Batch, Mesh, or Material ID (<null>) error occurred and objects briefly disappeared when a save happened while the Editor was in the background (for example, while an AI agent was working through MCP or CLI).
      • Fixed an issue where an error occurred when undoing after Duplicate (To Object) with Burst Acceleration turned on.
      • Fixed an issue where the mesh was not displayed once after renaming an object and saving.
    • Modeling Mode
      • Fixed an issue where the highlight was not displayed when hovering the mouse cursor over a Face from a very long distance.
      • Fixed an issue where, in the Cylinder tool, vertices were created rotated instead of aligned to the X/Z axes when Disk Segments was 6.
      • Fixed an issue where parametric shapes were not converted to Editable Mesh and the shape component remained even after executing UModelerize Hierarchy.
    • UV Editor
      • Fixed an issue where the UV Editor settings panel items and the UV toolbar buttons had no tooltips.
    • Rigging Mode
      • Fixed an issue where the skeleton created by Create Humanoid had naming that did not match Unity.
      • Humanoid Avatar Tool
        • Init Humanoid Avatar: Fixed an issue where it did not operate properly.
        • Body Bone Auto Setup: Added automatic matching for skeletons created with the existing Create Humanoid.
        • HumanBodyBones: Fixed an issue where the UI was not refreshed properly.
    • Curve Editor
      • Fixed an issue where an error occurred when adjusting the local position of the Pivot gizmo.
    • Parametric Mode
      • Fixed an issue where modifiers disappeared inside a prefab.
      • Fixed an issue where the initial loading was delayed when opening a scene containing many parametric shapes.
      • Fixed an issue where Undo/Redo of a shape drawn in Draw mode was extremely slow.
      • Fixed an issue where renaming a scene slowed down the speed and the mesh was not separated.
      • Fixed an issue where duplicating a prefab asset (Ctrl+D) caused it to share the mesh with the original until the next save.
      • Fixed an issue where an exception occurred in Nested Prefabs.
      • Fixed an issue where the Scene View manipulation and overlays of modifiers (FFD, Bend, Mirror, Array, and the like) did not work when the shape was in Object mode.
      • Fixed an issue where FFD cage selection and Undo operated abnormally on parametric shapes.
