Stair

A straight staircase whose step count follows the step height.

Translation in progress — showing the English version.

Stair is a straight staircase. You do not set the step count — it comes from Height ÷ Step Height.

Geometry

A staircase rising to Height within a Width (local X) by Depth (local Z) footprint. The pivot is at the center of the base and the steps climb toward +Z.

The step count is Height ÷ Step Height, capped at 256 steps. Each tread is Depth ÷ step count deep.

So for a believable staircase, keep Step Height realistic (0.15 – 0.2 m) and adjust Depth to land the tread depth you want.

Parameters

LabelScript keyDefaultRangeDescription
Widthw10.01 ~ 1000Stair width in meters
Depthd20.01 ~ 1000Horizontal run of the staircase, in meters
Heighth1-1000 ~ 1000Total height in meters
Step Heightsh0.20.01 ~ 1000Height of one step, in meters — this determines the step count

A Step Height larger than Height is clamped to Height (one step). Past 256 steps the count stops at the cap.

How to create

  1. Drag in empty space to set the footprint (Width × Depth).

  2. Click to confirm, then move the mouse up to set the Height — the step count grows live.

  3. Click again to finish.

The X handles drive Width, the Z handles Depth and the Y handles Height. Raising Height adds steps. Lock Step Height to keep the riser fixed while you stretch the staircase.

Tips

To meet building conventions, target a 0.15 – 0.18 m riser and a 0.25 – 0.3 m tread, then work backwards with Depth = step count × tread.

Locking Step Height pays off here: once locked, the riser survives a redraw in Draw mode.
